Why does this always happen to me?

The effects of generational agreements

It doesn’t matter what changes I try to make, how I try to do things differently, its like I hit a wall, come into obstacles that I find hard to navigate and it just seems like my life won’t ever be different. Sound familiar?  So, you try therapy, a life coach, hanging out with people who are where you want to be, taking all the advice you hear in order to “be the person you want to become” and yet it feels like nothing is ever going to change.

We buy into the lie that it’s just the way it is. I don’t buy it. I’ve learned you don’t have to buy into that lie either. Have you considered that what you are dealing with is generational? And that there is something you can do about it?

In Exodus 34: 6-7 we see that the guilty do not go unpunished and the punishment may be passed on for generations to come. You may have read this before and not really thought much of it. But have you considered that if you are a worrier, and you had a parent who was a worrier and a grandparent who was a worrier, that perhaps this is a generational issue?

It’s an interesting thought right? So, does that mean there is nothing you can do about it? No. If you keep reading in Exodus 34, Moses goes before the Lord and asks for forgiveness on behalf of the wicked and sinful people.

In the Splankna protocol, a Christian based energy healing protocol, we address the generational themes that can be affecting your life, but may not be so obvious, simply because you have lived with it your entire life.

There are three types of generational themes that we see, curses, agreements and strongholds.

Curses: This is usually when someone in the bloodline has committed a sin and for some reason it carries on through the generations. We aren’t sure why this happens, but some since carry on as a curse through the bloodline. And as a client, you can repent on behalf of whoever committed the sin, in order to break the curse for you and future generations.

Agreements: This is also rooted in sin, but someone in the bloodline made an agreement (subconsciously usually) and it’s been carried through the bloodline. Usually then we will see the symptoms of the agreement in our life and can clear them by repenting on behalf of whoever made the agreement. The client’s emotions can often get in the way of clearing the agreement, so that is the work we do in a generational agreement, clearing the emotions in the way of getting rid of the agreement on the bloodline.

Stronghold: This language is usually more familiar to Christians, however the way we see it is that there is some sort of agreement made in the bloodline some generations ago, and nobody has addressed the issue since (take worry as an example) everyone since that has not only agreed to that same agreement (losing sleep because of worry or being over protective because the worry is so intense for example) , but also contributed to it continuing. In this case, the client who deals with worrying all the time needs to confess that they have contributed to this continuing on the bloodline and are now wanting to break it off.

One of the most enjoyable sessions of Splankna I get to do with clients is generational work. It’s typically not super emotional, especially if it’s a curse or an agreement, but it has generational impacts. When we are able to break off generational patterns, lives can change immediately. For siblings who are not doing the work, but suffer from the effects of these generational curses and agreements, a family member breaking it off can often bring freedom for others in the family, still living.

When a client comes in and discusses the challenges, they have been facing their entire life and then they describe the same behaviors in a parent or in their children, we will often ask the Lord to help us break off any generational component to these behaviors. This is quite unique to the traditional approaches to personal growth.

If you are trying to break patterns and find it challenging, consider Splankna, an alternative approach to personal growth and freedom. If you live in Chino, Brea, Ontario, Upland, Claremont or surrounding areas and would like to try Splankna, contact us today for an appointment to see if this is right for you.
